Taco Tuesday

We live in a world where tacos are awesome, alcohol is necessary and money is sometimes so hard to come by that the only way to get any is to suck it out of a stranger’s dick. After acknowledging these facts, it becomes clear that life is little more than a thinly veiled scavenger hunt to find the best(cheapest) tacos and cheapest(worst) booze. In the same place...on a Tuesday.

There are hundreds of taco themed specials on Tuesday nights around Philadelphia, due, of course, to the city's renowned love of alliteration. But we don't want to use up all of your internet, so I'll only be covering three. Which, because I am lazy and lack journalistic integrity, were chosen based solely on their proximity to my home and/or work; Tattooed Moms, Barbarella and Dos Segundos.

For continuity purposes I will go to each of these establishments and order 3 veggie tacos, one Tecate and one shot of well tequila. 3 because I am fat. Veggie because I won't eat meat that only costs $1 and isn't a hotdog(conversely, I won't eat a hotdog that costs more than $1. Both possible byproducts of catholic upbringing). Tecate because I'll be eating one dollar fucking tacos and washing those down with good beer doesn't even make sense. And well tequila because I hate myself and deserve to suffer.

Check out the review of Tattooed Mom's after the break.

Welcome to The Mishap Press

In a city where the scenes and neighborhoods are constantly shifting, no one is keeping up, no one is evolving. There are places out there where you can find out what you need to know, for sure, but this is the place you can find everything you want to know. Where's the next punk show? How was that rave last night? Is the new Presidents of the United States of America album worth buying? Why the fuck does everyone have a mustache? These are the things we will cover.

We want to give you more information than anyone else. We want to be the place you go when you wake up in the morning and we want you to think about us all day. We want to see tattoos of our logo. But when it comes down to it, we need to work hard to get you to love us this much. So we will. A review of a show shouldn't just be about how good the band was, that's not the point. The point is was it fun, what songs did they play, was the crowd into it, are the drinks cheap and heavy, just the way we like them? We want to own this shit.

Websites are supposed to have a specialty. You are supposed to write what you are passionate about, what you know. But in a society like we have today, where everything is easily accessible and shifting and changing, our passions evolve too. One day you are into indie music and the next you have moved on to jazz. And we hope to follow. To do this we need to know who you are. We need your help.

We are here to enlighten, elucidate, bitch, and judge. We hope to develop a publication that you are happy to read everyday. We want our writers to be your friends. We want you to buy us drinks when you meet us at the bar. We want this site to be home. But in order to do this we need your help. Participate, send us emails, tell us what we are doing right, and tell us when we are wrong. If there's something you want to see on the
site, let us know. If you think you can write our articles better, do it, we may even hire you.  Our subject matter is You, and our door is open. So come in.

With that said, Welcome to The Mishap Press. You home to all things devious, fun, and interesting. Sit down and join us as we unravel this complicated city, one bar at a time.
